New Film Defies Hollywood Expectations By Not Advocating Government Provide Free Food for Obese Movie Makers
Michael Moore started filming this week on his new movie “Dodger and Me” which details the plight of everyday people in the U.S. and Britain who racked up huge debts buying houses they couldn’t afford only to find that other people were unwilling to pay their bills for them.
In one particularly moving scene, a diabetic single mother who dropped out of high school and has twelve children, describes how she received a $750,000 mortgage loan with no money down and was devastated to find that the bank expected her to pay it back.
“I play the lottery every week,” said Sally F. who works from home three days a week as a telemarketer.
“How was I supposed to know that I wouldn’t hit the jackpot before my mortgage came due? This is a perfect example of how banks took advantage of simple-minded people like me.”
An official at Countrywide Mortgage said, “We understand Sally’s plight. And we agree with her … she is simple-minded.”
The official went on to suggest that Sally wasn’t nearly as dim-witted as the loan officer who advanced her the money in the first place and maintained that any government solution would have to include bailing out the banks as well as mortgage-holders.
“It would be totally unfair to help out one idiot while ignoring other idiots who went to business school.”
