Flint, Michigan Looking For Sponsors For Police Surveillance Cameras

by markjabo on July 31st, 2008

Move Sparks Bidding War Between Producers of America’s Funniest Home Videos and Girls Gone Wild

Pleased with the success of the one camera they already have, the city of Flint, Michigan is looking to add 24 more cameras at a cost of $420,000.

In addition to looking for someone who can do math and not pay over $17,000 for a glorified webcam, city officials are looking to raise money for the project by offering to sell sponsorships to various cameras at $30,000 a pop.

Companies showing early interest include Big Tony’s Bail Bonds and Domino’s Pizza which promises to deliver to your holding cell in under 30 minutes or sometime between your second and third anal assault…guaranteed!

Other interested parties had included America’s Funniest Home Videos (Stupid Criminal Edition) and the producers of Girls Gone Wild.  Joe Francis and the GGW team dropped out when someone reminded them it was Flint, Michigan and the only way they would sell any tapes would be if someone got the girls drunk and paid them to keep their shirts on.

In a related story, an anonymous donor pledged $120,000 toward camera installation but city officials balked at the request for an additional feed to be wired into Vice-President Cheney’s home theater system.

Our town (of 14,000) has cameras all over the place. If you go to the police station you can actually see the monitors showing much of the city.
