Hurricane Gustav Disappoints
In Rare Interview, Gustav Admits ‘Underachiever’ Label ‘Really Hurts’
Hurricane Gustav, which only three days ago was touted as “potentially devastating,” “forecast to strengthen to a Category 5″ and “the worst thing to hit New Orleans since stricter enforcement of prostitution laws,” made landfall today as a Category 2 hurricane.
Other hurricanes, who wished to remain nameless, criticized Gustav for failing to live up to his potential.
“For a hurricane that was hyped more than the last Cold Play CD, Gustav turned out more like an Ashlee Simpson song,” said a disappointed low pressure system.
“With all he had going for him, Gustav should’ve been at least a Category 4 and, quite probably a Category 5,” said one fellow hurricane. “All I can say is that he shattered the dreams of a lot of young tropical storms with his lackluster performance. It’s going to make it tougher for all of us to be taken seriously.”
A new generation of storms is looking to tropical storm Hannah for inspiration. A misty-eyed summer shower noted, “I really believe Hannah could be the one to finally break through one of the 18 million cracks in the glass levee.”
In other entertainment news, ABC announced Gustav will join other also-rans and ex-celebrities on next season’s Dancing With the Stars.
