Town Officials Approve Ordinance To Put Bounty On Stray Cats

Ex-governor Spitzer Books Flight to Iowa on Mistaken Assumption He Could Get Paid for Bagging Kitty

It’s not what you think.

Town officials in Randolph, Iowa have decided they needed to do something about the feral cat problem in their town.

There are so many stray cats in town they are disrupting normal life (whittling, Bingo, cow tipping…) in this Midwestern town of 200 people.

According to Yahoo! News:

“One guy threatened to shoot all of them. I told him he couldn’t do that in town. Other people talk about poisoning them, but you can’t do that in town,” [Town Mayor] Trively said.

Under the new policy, stray cats without collars will be taken to a veterinarian in the nearby town … where they’ll be kept “for a time for people to claim them,” the mayor said.

If no one does, they’ll be euthanized and buried.

In other words, they’ll be shot or poisoned.

Just not in town.

Due to the bounty, Brian Setzer and members of his rockabilly band have canceled the Iowa leg of their tour.
